During a calendar year, the information used to create a HMDA report is entered on the Encompass HMDA Information input form for home purchase, home improvement, and refinancing loans as each loan is processed. If your company is required to submit HMDA information, a report containing the HMDA data must be created in Pipe-Delimited file format and submitted to your supervisory agency by March 1 following the calendar year when the data was collected.
Create a HMDA Report

Click the Pipeline tab in Encompass, and then click the Pipeline menu.

Point to Compliance Services, and then click Generate HMDA Export.

On the HMDA window, most of the information is populated from the HMDA Profiles settings. If the data is not already populated, complete the following fields:

Enter your Respondent ID and Tax ID numbers. You can obtain the Respondent ID and Tax ID numbers from your regulatory agency.

Select the Agency from the list.

Enter the LEI (Legal Entity Identifier) number for your company.

Enter the Respondent Contact Information for the individual at your company who is responsible for preparing the HMDA report.

Enter your company address in the Parent Mailing Address section.

In the Date Range section, select a From Date and To Date to establish a time period for the loans to include in the report.

In the Loan Folders section, select one or more loan folders to use in the report.

To save the file to a specified location, type the path name in the Output File Name field or click the Browse button to select a location.

Use the Output File Format dropdown list to select the file format for the export. Data can be exported in Excel or Pipe-Delimited file format.

Use Pipe-Delimited formatting when submitting the report.

Use Excel formatting to create a file you can use to view or audit the data.

Both the Excel and Pipe-Delimited file formats have options for formatting the data according to HMDA 2017 or HMDA 2018 reporting requirements.

Click Submit to create the file and save it to the selected location.
Submit a HMDA Report
Filers submit their HMDA data using a web interface. Information regarding the HMDA Platform is located at:

It is recommended that HMDA filers use the latest version of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, or other modern browsers.

Certification also occurs within the HMDA Platform. An authorized representative of your institution with knowledge of the data submitted will certify to the accuracy and completeness of the data submitted.
